Which "My Love" app do you have?

The famous one is My Love – Relationship Counter by Bjoern Bartels, App Store id 409609608, on the store since 2010 and rated more than a million times. This page compares LoveKeeper with that app.

At least five other apps use "My Love" in their name, from different developers. Some are on Android, some have subscriptions or mood trackers. If your app runs on Android, it is not the Bartels app, because that one is iPhone only. Even some review sites mix them up, so check the developer name in your store before you compare features.

What My Love does well

My Love does one thing fast: you open it and see how long you have been together in years, months and days. It turns that time into fun milestones such as the 333rd day or the 50th month, and it can notify you when one of these special days arrives.

You can add a photo of the two of you as the background. The app needs no account, and its App Store privacy label says it collects no data. People who love it mostly praise the instant count and the milestone notifications.

Where My Love falls short

What LoveKeeper does differently

LoveKeeper is an anniversary tracker app for every date in your relationship, not only the first one. You add your anniversary, first date, wedding day, birthdays or any trip you are looking forward to. Each date shows the days since or the days left.

The bigger difference is reminders. For each date you choose as many reminders as you like, on the day or 1, 2, 3, 7, 10, 14 or 30 days before, so there is time to plan a gift or book a table. Reminders for love dates and birthdays can include gift ideas for the occasion.

You can also keep photo memories and a bucket list of things you want to do together. Everything works offline, stays on your phone and can be saved as a backup file. Only one of you needs the app, which keeps surprises secret.

What LoveKeeper does not have yet: a home screen widget (it is the next feature), sync between two phones, and chat. It is in English only.

How to switch from My Love to LoveKeeper

  1. Open My Love and note your start date, plus any special days you care about.
  2. Install LoveKeeper and add the start date as your anniversary. The days-since count appears right away.
  3. Add the other dates, such as birthdays or your wedding day, and choose reminders for each.
  4. Keep My Love until you have seen your first LoveKeeper reminder arrive, then decide whether you still need it.

If the two apps show a count one day apart, they start counting differently. The guide to counting days together explains day 0 versus day 1.

Other My Love alternatives

If a widget matters most right now, look for a counter app that includes widgets in its upgrade, with widgets, such as LoveCounter – My Love (widgets come with its Pro upgrade) or The Couple. If you want an app you both use, with chat or shared questions, couple apps like Between or Paired fit better. The best anniversary apps list compares these with prices and platforms.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free alternative to My Love?

Is My Love – Relationship Counter on Android?

No. The My Love app by Bjoern Bartels is iPhone only. Android apps with "My Love" in their name come from other developers. LoveKeeper runs on both iPhone and Android.

Is My Love still updated?

Its last App Store update, version 2.3.2, came out in May 2023 and fixed a typo in the widget.

What is My Love Pro?

My Love Pro is the app's $0.99 in-app purchase in the US App Store. It adds the home screen widget.
