Q: How do I add an event?

Tap the Events tab at the bottom, then tap the + button in the top right. Fill in the event details (name, date, category) and tap Save.

Q: How do I set up reminders for an event?

When creating or editing an event, scroll down to the "Reminders" section. Tap Add Reminder and choose how many days before the event you want to be notified and at what time.

Tip: You can add multiple reminders for the same event! For example, 7 days before, 3 days before, and on the day itself.

Q: I'm not receiving notifications. What should I do?

Follow these steps:

  1. Open your device Settings
  2. Scroll to LoveKeeper
  3. Tap Notifications
  4. Make sure Allow Notifications is ON
  5. Check that Alerts, Sounds, and Badges are enabled

Android: Also check that battery optimization is not blocking notifications for LoveKeeper.

Q: How do I add photos to memories?

Go to the Memories tab, tap the + button, and then:

  • Tap Add Photo to select from your photo library
  • Or tap Take Photo to use your camera
  • You can add multiple photos to one memory!

Tip: Photos are automatically optimized to save storage space on your device.

Q: Where is my data stored?

All your data (events, memories, photos, bucket list items) is stored locally on your device only. It is NOT uploaded to the cloud or any servers.

Important: This means if you delete the app or reset your device, all your data will be lost. Make sure to back up your device regularly!

Q: Can I sync my data across multiple devices?

Currently, LoveKeeper does not support cloud sync across devices. Each device maintains its own local data. This is by design to protect your privacy.

Cloud sync may be added in a future update based on user feedback!

Q: How do I back up my data?

Your data is included in your device's backup:

  • iPhone: Your data is backed up with iCloud or iTunes backups
  • Android: Your data is backed up with Google Backup (if enabled in Settings)

Additionally, you can export your data:

  1. Go to app Settings (in Events, Memories, or Bucket List tabs)
  2. Tap Export Data
  3. Save the JSON file to your files or cloud storage
Q: How do I delete an event, memory, or bucket list item?

Swipe left on any item in the list and tap Delete.

Or tap on the item to open details, then tap the trash icon in the top right.

Q: Can I reorder my bucket list items?

Yes! In the Bucket List tab, press and hold on any item, then drag it to reorder. You'll feel a haptic feedback when you start dragging.

Q: Is LoveKeeper free?

Yes! LoveKeeper is completely free to use with no hidden costs, subscriptions, or in-app purchases.

Q: How do I disable analytics?

We collect minimal anonymized usage data to improve the app. To opt-out:

  1. Open the app
  2. Go to Settings (available in each tab)
  3. Toggle off Share Usage Data

Your events, memories, and photos are NEVER shared in analytics – only general app usage like "created an event" or "added a memory".

🛠️ Troubleshooting

App is crashing or freezing
  1. Force close the app: Swipe up from the bottom (iPhone) or tap Recent Apps button and swipe away (Android)
  2. Restart your device
  3. Check for updates: Visit the App Store/Play Store to see if a new version is available
  4. Reinstall the app: Delete and reinstall (⚠️ warning: this will delete all your data unless backed up!)
  5. Contact support: If the problem persists, email us at support@lovekeeper.app with details
Photos not loading or showing as black
  1. Check that you've granted photo library permissions in device Settings
  2. Try re-adding the photo
  3. Check available storage on your device (Settings → General → Storage)
  4. Restart the app
Event dates showing incorrectly

Check your device's time and date settings:

  1. Go to device Settings → General → Date & Time
  2. Ensure Set Automatically is ON
  3. Check your time zone is correct
App running slowly
  1. Close other apps running in the background
  2. Restart your device
  3. Check available storage (the app needs space for photos)
  4. If you have hundreds of items, consider archiving old ones

🔒 Privacy & Security

Is my data secure?

Yes! Your data is stored locally on your device using iOS/Android built-in security features. We never upload your events, memories, or photos to any server.

For additional security:

  • Use a strong device passcode/biometrics
  • Enable device encryption (on by default in modern iOS/Android)
  • Don't share your device with untrusted people
Can LoveKeeper access my data?

No. Since all data is stored locally on your device and never uploaded to our servers, we have absolutely no way to access your events, memories, photos, or any personal information you enter in the app.

Settings → Apps → LoveKeeper → Notifications → Show notifications (ON)

Disable battery optimization (important for notifications):

Settings → Apps → LoveKeeper → Battery → Don't optimize

How to allow camera/photos:

Settings → Apps → LoveKeeper → Permissions → Allow Camera and Storage

💡 Tips & Tricks

Set recurring reminders: For annual events like anniversaries, set reminders at 1 week, 3 days, and 1 day before so you have plenty of time to plan!

Use emojis: Add emojis to your events and memories to make them more fun and easier to spot in lists! 🎂🎉💕

Bucket list priorities: Use the priority feature (low/medium/high) to focus on your most important goals first!

Export data regularly: Make it a habit to export your data monthly as an extra backup!
